After being left on a huge cliffhanger in Binding 13, I immediately ordered Keeping 13 “for keeps” on Amazon and read it right away.
Picking up where we left off, things get confusing: families fall apart, perspectives shift, and relationships change. One big question is finally answered: will Marie choose between her abusive husband Teddy or the children crying out for help?
Johnny is sulking in stress and complex emotions after his recent injury completely changes his lifestyle and athletic career. Will he qualify for the academy? What comes next? Through this struggle, he finds soft spots in his heart for himself, his family, and his friends, and he begins to understand what love and empathy truly mean. As he copes with his rugby dreams taking an unexpected turn, his strict focus on the sport gives way to a search for physical and emotional healing—and maybe a special someone.
Meanwhile, Shannon realizes there’s no secret left to hide. Her family is falling apart, and she feels the pressure to hold it all together for her siblings and her unstable mother. But who will help her when she’s used to keeping everything private? There’s only one person who can help her piece back together not just her family, but herself.
These two characters aren’t ready for the unexpected twists and turns ahead—especially after their traumatizing trip to Dublin. But there is one thing for sure: they both need someone to rely on to pick up their broken pieces and change their lives for good.
If you thought Binding 13 was sad, cute, and hilarious, Keeping 13 won’t disappoint. This book is packed with plot twists, humor, and moments so intense you’ll have to put it down and think. Chloe Walsh has done it again. This was hard to write without spoiling anything, but trust me when I tell you this book was a great read.
