A Good Girls Guide to Murder: A Book Review

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder: A Book Review

Happy Holidays!

Today, I will be reviewing A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson. In the summer of 2019, Pippa Fitz-Amobi, a 17-year-old journalism and criminology enthusiast, is determined to uncover the truth behind one of the biggest unsolved crimes in her hometown of Fairview, Connecticut. Five years ago, Andie Bell, the perfect blonde teenager, was reported missing. Her Indian American boyfriend, Sal Singh, was accused of murdering her and later killed himself after confessing to committing the crime. However, Pippa believes that Sal could be innocent and suspects that the case deserves a much deeper investigation.

For her senior year project, Pippa decides to solve the mystery behind the Andie Bell case to show her community that there’s more to the story than framing Sal. With the help of Sal’s brother, Ravi, Pippa embarks on a journey to conduct interviews, research more around the community and dig deeper into the details of the case. Though there are  risks such as breaking up friendships and straining family relationships, Pippa believes this case is more than just a project—it’s about seeking justice and uncovering the truth. Will she ever get to the truth about the case? Read to find out.

This book was an absolute thriller and kept me hanging multiple times. If you are interested in books about crimes, mysteries, thrillers and suspense, this book is perfect for you. This book has also been turned into a Netflix Series and has two other sequels following it which I have yet to read.  Happy Reading!
